GLOBAL OUTREACH

SBC MISSION TO AFRICA

Our mission agenda is centered on the biblical directive as stated in the gospel of St. Mathew 28:19-20, everyone in every nation, deserves a chance to hear the Gospel no matter who they are, young or elderly, male or female.

Our two targeted regions in Africa: Uganda and Burkina Faso.

Through our partnership with Compassion International Ministries we support key missions objectives such as providing assistance with humanitarian aid, and child-care development. We pledge our support to combat malnutrition, provide heath care assistance and immunizations, education training and to develop income generating skills, among many other efforts.

Uganda - Rwaramba Community

Home to 200,000 residents, with typical houses constructed of dirt floors, mud walls and corrugated iron roofs. The primary ethnic goup is Bafumbira and the most commonly spoken language is Rufumbira.

The regional diet consist of beans, potatoes, peas and maize. Common health problems in this area include malaria and HIV/AIDS. Most adults work as loborers or market vendors and earn the equivalent of $12 per month. This community needs vocational training centers, literacy programs, qualified teachers, income-generating activities and recreation facilities.

Burkina Faso - Tapoa Province

The rural county in the district of Diapaga is home to about 2,700 residents. The primary ethnic group is Gourmantche, and the most commonly spoken languages are Gulmachema and French. Typical houses are constructed of dirt floors, mud walls and wooden roofs. The regional diets consist of maize, beans, rice and millet.

Adults in Diapaga make a living by farming, working on plantations, performing domestic services, and/or selling goods in the market or on the street. The average family income is equivalent to just $22 per month. This community needs additional food, clean water, a well-equipped hospital and pharmacy, income-generating activities, more schools and teachers, and economic support to send children to school.
